DR. YIN-FAH (YF) KAM

Dr. Kam is a leading Applied Scientist and Technopreneur, marrying science and business. With more than 35 years of professional experience in “humanizing” science and technology in areas dealing with human health and the environment, his current passions are on Natural Foods including probiotics, nutraceuticals and functional foods using platform technologies in antibiotics free and pesticide free farming for agribusiness, and on solutions to minimize environmental degradation through agro-based science. YF brings unique ideas to enterprises by his understanding of the science behind products and filling in the knowledge network necessary for sustainable enterprise growth. YF has played an advisory role to governments on food safety and assurance in various areas, and has been on the Singapore Board of the leading New Zealand government-owned Food Safety and Bio-Security services company as they expanded their services internationally. His recent advisory work to government agencies and multinationals focuses on the framework and expert network to develop high economic value businesses from natural resources such as in forests and mountain areas while emphasizing sustainability, conservation and preservation of nature. YF holds a BSc (Hons) and a PhD in Polymer Science & Technology from the North London University, UK. He is an Associate Member of the Malaysian Institute of Chemistry, and for over 20 years a Member and Chartered Chemist of the Royal Society of Chemistry (UK) and a Member of the American Association of Clinical Chemistry (USA).

HENG-SENG (HS) LIM

Mr Lim advises multinational companies in the development and management of distribution strategies and distribution channels for premium, branded and luxury products, with especially deep knowledge on effective distribution in China. Through his many years heading Human Resources and Organization Effectiveness for leading global western and Asian multinationals, HS is also a leading management expert in the areas of business transformation for performance and growth, and in organization design and leadership effectiveness. Working with the then Asia President and Chairman of leading wines and spirits multinational Seagram Asia Pacific (US$1.6 billion revenue) following the 1997 financial crisis, HS is credited with helping to turn around Seagram’s Asia business, attracting a takeover from Pernod Ricard. After successfully retiring from Pernod Ricard, he focused on advisory, restructuring and turnaround situations with the Board and Chairman/Founder of family companies listed in Singapore and Hongkong with operations in China, like Hongkong listed Titan Petrochemicals and Singapore listed Hosen Group where he remains an independent non-executive Board Director. HS held transformative leadership positions in multinational companies like GE Plastics, the Ssangyong Group and Seagate. HS earned his Bachelor of Social Science (Economics) from the National University of Singapore, and his Master of Business Administration from the University of Dubuque, USA.

LUP-HANG (LH) WONG

Mr Wong is an honorary consultant for Cancer Research Malaysia (CRM) and sits as the patient advocate on their Scientific Advisory Board. CRM is a not-for-profit organisation in cancer research and a renowned cancer research institute focussed on Asian cancers. He has steered CRM in building a more robust financial strategy and driven a stronger brand presence, with the objective for CRM to thrive beyond just sustainability. With more diversified funding CRM is poised to roll out its first for-profit social enterprise in molecular diagnostics. As patient advocate LH has challenged the scientists to leverage their knowledge and experience towards translational research that will benefit patients. This effort has seen CRM receiving significant grants from the UK’s Wellcome Trust, the Medical Research Council, as well as from the Newton Fund for some exciting new projects. LH was Managing Director in Abdul Latif Jameel Group (ALJ), one of the largest family enterprises in the Middle East and the largest independent distributor for Toyota Group globally – its vehicle retail network alone employs over 12,000 people. Based in Jeddah, he was also the chairman of their capital investment committee for long term investments and their associate care ombudsman committee. He took voluntary early retirement from ALJ, where he remains close to the ALJ family, in order to assist CRM on a pro-bono basis. LH is an associate member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, UK and the Malaysia Institute of Accountants.

WHEY-YING (WY) MAO

Ms Mao is a veteran in integrated development and master planning for sustainable industrial development and urban living in projects around the world. Her 40 years of experience started with JTC Corporation, a statutory board in Singapore responsible for master planning, design and implementation of infrastructure and facilities to serve industries and cluster industrial clients that Singapore wished to attract. First as a civil engineer, then as Head of the Industry Planning Department and subsequently as Head of the Technical Services Group, she focused on understanding and developing infrastructure and facilities in Singapore to meet changing global best-in-class needs. JTC formed Jurong International in 2001 to pursue projects globally using its experience and world class reputation in industrial infrastructure and planning. Ms Mao was President of its consulting entity until its merger in 2015 with Surbana International Consultants to form the Surbana Jurong Group, a mega consultancy in industrial, urban and infrastructure consulting services. She was last a Deputy CEO in the Group, heading the Master Planning Division that provided integrated services from development planning to urban design and implementation globally. Just a few of the many global projects in Jurong International’s portfolio speak volumes of her contributions to sustainable industrial development: One-North in Singapore - an area that includes Biopolis, the first Biomedical Hub, and  Fusionopolis, the first ICT Hub; Eco Industrial / Business Parks including Low Carbon Living Lab and Landmark Building in Tianjin Eco-City, China; strategic master plans for Special Economic Zones, integrated parks and rejuvenation and re-development in Kazakhstan, Russia, Brazil and India. Ms Mao earned her BEngg (Hons) and an MSc (Construction Engineering) from the University of Singapore, and is a Professional Engineer and an Accredited Checker.
